Job Title: Bylaw Intake Administrator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Bylaw Services team as a Bylaw Intake Administrator. This relief position will provide administrative support to the Bylaw Services Department, ensuring the efficient handling of bylaw complaints and enforcement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to bylaw complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Triaging calls for service, prioritizing based on severity, safety factors, and history.
  • Preparing and entering bylaw files, assigning tasks to Bylaw Enforcement Officers, and communicating with complainants and officers as needed.
  • Dispatching calls for service to Bylaw Enforcement Officers in the field using two-way radio communications.
  • Conducting regular officer safety checks for officers on duty in the field.
  • Preparing administrative documents, notices, and letters related to bylaw files.
  • Handling monies for processing department initiatives and ticket payments.
  • Preparing statistical reports and tracking documents for monthly department operations.
  • Liaising with other city departments and outside agencies.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Senior Secondary School education supplemented by relevant Office Administration and/or Bylaw Enforcement courses.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a Bylaw Services department or related enforcement field.
  • Minimum of three years experience dealing with the public, both on the phone and face-to-face counter work.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in an Administrative/Clerk role, or combination of the above.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate of $33.08 per hour, increasing to $34.41 per hour on July 1, 2024.
  • Additional 15% in lieu of benefits, vacation, and statutory holidays.
