Baycrest is seeking a Recreationist to join their Therapeutic Recreation Services team.

Job Summary:

The Recreationist will work with the Apotex Therapeutic Recreation and Culture & Arts teams to develop and execute therapeutic programs for individuals with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Supervise and orient volunteers
  • Contribute to professional development and training
  • Coordinate services with other departments
  • Manage program supplies and inventory

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Recreation or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience in a Recreationist role or equivalent
  • Member in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario or Activity Professionals of Ontario preferred
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating creative recreation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
