Job Summary

At Superior Contracting and Pools, we are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team. As a Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in the construction process, including loading and unloading materials, measuring weight, and performing pre-operational inspections. You will also be responsible for reading blueprints to determine work requirements and operating heavy equipment such as cranes and pile driving machines. Additionally, you will assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction, pave and rake asphalt, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Responsibilities

- Load, unload, and transport construction materials
- Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Perform pre-operational inspection
- Read blueprints to determine work requirements
- Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
- Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
- Pave and rake asphalt
- Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Requirements

- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction or a related field
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and instructions
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
