Job Overview

This Electrical Project Engineer Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the engineering activities on various construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to manage all aspects of the project, from design review to commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Oversee the execution of various stages of a project, including design review, cable sizing, and technical assessments.
  2. Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of electrical designs to identify gaps, deviations, or contradictions in specifications.
  3. Cable Sizing: Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Technical Assessments: Complete technical assessments as required and resolve issues promptly to minimize delays.
  5. Submittals: Compile and issue electrical technical submittals, manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement, and complete receipt verification.
  6. Supply Chain Management: Attend and record regular supply chain meetings to ensure progress is monitored and maintained within the overall construction program.
  7. Progress Tracking: Update and record progress on system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
  8. BIM Review: Review electrical installations with the BIM team to ensure designs are constructible and adequate space exists for installation and maintenance.
  9. Liaison: Liaise with the design team and supply chain to ensure correct operation of plant on site and successful handover.
  10. System Walk-Downs: Conduct electrical system walk-downs to ensure systems comply with specifications and drawings.
  11. Test Pack Compilation: Compile test packs, FTOPs, and O&Ms, and present for approval.
  12. Commissioning: Manage specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion of their works.
  13. Client Training: Undertake client training in line with agreed-upon training plans.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a project management role.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as ISO 9001, would be an asset.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
