Learning Supports Coordinator – La Ronge, SK

Job Summary
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Supports Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting students, teachers, and staff to achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student success, including creating learning plans and providing individualized support.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students who require additional support and develop targeted interventions.
- Provide coaching and guidance to teachers on effective teaching practices and strategies to support diverse learners.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, including schools, colleges, and universities, to support student success.
- Develop and implement programs to promote student well-being, including mental health and wellness initiatives.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop plans to support student improvement.
- Provide feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee the implementation of standardized tests and inventories to ensure compliance with provincial requirements.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date student records.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education degree with a focus in Special Education.
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferably in Special Education.
- Resource room experience.
- Strong elementary and/or secondary school administrator experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of school board policies, compliance regulations, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of child development and teaching methods.
- Cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to speak Cree language an asset.
- Ability to recognize individual learning styles and characteristics of learners.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, etc.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
