About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Renfrew Educational Services. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex communication needs, blindness or visual impairment, or deaf and hard of hearing. You will work collaboratively with students, teachers, staff, and families to implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies, coordinate trials, and manage funding for speech-generating communication devices.
About the Team:
Our Low Incidence Team is a dynamic and dedicated group of professionals who are committed to providing high-quality services to students with complex needs. We are a Level 3 Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) SGCD authorizer team, and we work closely with students, teachers, and families to develop and implement individualized AAC plans.
About the Community Services Team:
Our Community Services Team provides consultation, professional development, team collaboration, and direct intervention across various environments. We work with school staff and families to support student access to curriculum and engagement in school activities. Therapy intervention may be provided in one-to-one settings, in small groups, in classrooms, and universally in schools.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology: A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required, along with proof of registration with ACSLPA.
- Experience with AAC Tools and Methods: Experience with a variety of AAC tools and access methods, such as eye gaze, switch, and direct with hands, is an asset.
- Understanding of Indigenous Peoples and First Nations Communities: An understanding of and/or work experience with Indigenous Peoples and First Nations communities is an asset.
- Flexible and Organized: You must be flexible and organized, with good planning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable Vehicle and Insurance: A reliable vehicle, auto insurance with a minimum $2,000,000.00 liability, and a driver's license are required.
