Unit Clerk, Molecular Imaging and Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion of requisitions and scheduling of tests and services.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating appointments and communicating with patients and healthcare teams.
- Gather patient information and prepare documents for clinical teams, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate record-keeping.
- Provide receptionist duties, including greeting patients, answering phone inquiries, and responding to triage requests.
- Participate in onboarding and orientation of staff, demonstrating work procedures and answering queries.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, adhering to safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient care and support.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
