Your role within our team:

  1. Remove obstacles that impact deliverables from meeting project requirements and priorities by working with assigned staff to find optimal solutions.
  2. Ensure work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures, statutory requirements, and best practices in safety and quality.
  3. Prepare equipment specifications and engineering service scopes of work in a timely manner.
  4. Approve equipment and/or services requisitions prepared by the multi-discipline engineering team.
  5. Review vendor bid technical packages and ensure vendor document acceptance by engineering in a timely manner.
  6. Organize and monitor design oversight of outside contracted design work.
  7. Foster a positive team environment and build relationships between Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Project Controls, and internal/external customers.
  8. Interface with project alliance partners to receive design documentation, raise requisitions, and facilitate technical information exchange to ensure timely manufacturing of equipment aligned with installation dates.
  9. Plan and execute work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  10. Collaborate with clients and oversee the requisition and manufacturing of equipment in accordance with signed contracts, approved customer specifications, and technical requirements.
  11. Manage interfaces between equipment engineering, engineering disciplines, and procurement.
  12. Ensure final deliverables meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
  13. Work with marketing and other corporate groups to maintain and improve client relationships and offerings.
  14. Identify and propose improvements in project areas - both proactively and in response to customer requirements.
  • This position offers the opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.
  • The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:
    • An engineering degree in a core discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical) from an accredited university.
    • 10 years of design experience, equipment selection, and manufacturing technical oversight in a heavy industry project delivery environment.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
    • Minimum 5 years of nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience.
    • Experience managing and/or performing work under nuclear quality management systems such as CSA N286, CSA N299.
    • Experience working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada.
    • Held nuclear station design/engineering qualifications.
    • Working knowledge of the nuclear regulatory framework.
    • Working knowledge of nuclear and industry codes and standards (CSA N285, ASME, B31).
    • Experience executing projects subject to import/export controls.
