Nutritional Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our dynamic Food and Nutrition Department team at Southbridge Care Homes.
**About the Role:**
As a Cook, you will play a critical role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals. You will be responsible for reviewing menus, preparing food according to standardized recipes, and monitoring the quality and quantity of food supplies.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing menus and preparing food according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
- In the absence of the Food Services Manager, assisting with their responsibilities.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and quantity, and recommending corrective action when necessary.
- Cooaching Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and serving activities, and assuming responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
- Maintaining all required records and cooperating with other departments to meet resident needs.
**Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must meet one of the following qualification scenarios:
- Hold a chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
- Be certified as a Cook by an authority meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
- Possess a post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
**Preferred Qualifications:
We prefer candidates who have:
- Red Seal Cook Trade Certification.
- Experience in institutional large quantity cooking.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
- A current Safe Food Handling Certificate issued by the TBDHU.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
**What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. This estimate is based on data from the Canadian government and job postings in the industry.
