Job Summary

The Store Manager is a key leadership role at Lids Inc, responsible for driving store performance and delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Store Manager, you will be the face of our brand, fostering a passion for sporting and fashion goods among our customers while ensuring the store runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

People Development

  1. Develop and implement effective hiring strategies to attract and retain top talent, ensuring a strong and diverse team.
  2. Collaborate with the market's Authorized Trainer to design and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new team members.
  3. Lead by example, creating a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages team members to grow and develop their skills.
  4. Manage employee relations, including performance management, recognition, and continuous feedback to support career growth and personal development.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

Customer Experience

  1. Drive sales growth and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) by executing our Selling 101 strategy and delivering exceptional customer service.
  2. Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience and maintaining customer loyalty.
  3. Lead and direct in-store team members to provide optimal customer service, ensuring every customer receives a personalized and engaging experience.
  4. Promote Lids' membership programs and special offers to customers, educating team members on the benefits and value proposition.

Operations

  1. Manage store operations, including scheduling, payroll, and inventory management, to ensure efficient and effective store performance.
  2. Plan and prepare the store schedule, considering team members' qualifications, availability, and performance to maintain optimal store operations.
  3. Manage business disruptions and provide operational continuity, ensuring minimal impact on store performance.
  4. Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  5. Maintain store technology and equipment, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime.
  6. Effectively manage cash handling, including accurate opening and closing of the till, counterfeit protection practices, and consistent bank drops.
  7. Prepare the store for inventory audits and support in performing them as needed to confirm inventory accuracy.

Product and Inventory Management

  1. Develop and implement effective product strategies, including supervision and oversight of receiving, processing, merchandising, and exiting through purchase or transfer.
  2. Ensure product integrity, adhering to vendor-specific regulations and company standards.
  3. Monitor and manage sell-through, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing losses.
  4. Manage transfers or ship-backs according to company standards, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  5. Execute optimal layout and visual merchandising (VM) or product presentation strategy, ensuring a visually appealing store environment.
  6. Maintain the store's appearance and ambiance, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  7. Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
  8. Proven supervisory skills, with capacity to deliver training material and assess retention.
  9. Ability to operate a computer, as well as maneuver relative software programs.
  10. Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings.
