Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to oversee the day-to-day activities of our retail store. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training new employees, teaching interest or professional development courses, and authorizing payments by cheque.

In addition, the Retail Sales and Operations Manager will be responsible for planning and developing permanent and temporary exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces, and other exhibitions, ordering merchandise, authorizing returns, establishing work schedules, selling merchandise, preparing reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, resolving customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages, organizing and maintaining inventory, supervising office and volunteer staff, managing cash, overseeing payroll administration, conducting performance reviews, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)

  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers

  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
