Industrial Automation Specialist

The PLC Programmer role at FPS Food Process Solutions Corporation is a critical position that requires a strong background in electrical engineering and automation programming. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of PLC programming principles, troubleshooting techniques, and electrical engineering concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement PLC/HMI programs for various machines
- Configure and set up VFDs, servo, and instrument systems
- Provide guidance and direction to junior staff members
- Lead and execute small to mid-sized automation projects
- Develop and propose electrical engineering changes as needed
Qualifications & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation programming
- Strong knowledge of PLC languages (Allen Bradley, RX Logix 5000, 500, Siemens) and HMIs (RS Studio)
- Ability to create schematics, wiring, and layout drawings
- Knowledge of electrical and control design areas, including power distribution, system studies, control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC, DCS, HMI systems
- Excellent English verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal guidance and direction
- Experience with freezer control panel or similar panel protocol is preferred
- Working knowledge of UL, CSA, CE is considered an asset
