Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to work in a variety of long term and acute care facilities in the Shelburne area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established policy and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care for residents.
- Ensure timely and safe resident transfers and discharges.
- Ensure the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics and follow established protocols.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements:
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV) and negative TB skin test within one year as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shift times and 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital.
