As an RPN, you will play a vital role in enhancing the effective management and quality of nursing practice, ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide resident care in accordance with established nursing standards, principles, and administrative policies, observing, reporting, and recording vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents, and initiating remedial health measures as needed.
  • Assess residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate resident care plans, monitoring residents' health and noting changes in condition, and assessing the need for referral to doctors, processing and implementing physician orders.
  • Organize and direct functions and activities related to the provision of care to residents, including restorative care and palliative care as required, interpreting and implementing established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit, orienting and training new personnel, and participating in in-service education, monitoring performance, and conducting performance appraisals, and referring problems to the Director of Care.

Requirements

  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices.
  • Effective human relations skills and demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
