Nurse Practitioner Inpatient Mental Health Services Specialist

Job Summary
Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Mental Health Services team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and support the psychiatric assessment of patients on other inpatient units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical interventions for patients on the Inpatient Mental Health Unit and transitional day program
- Coordinate patient care by working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and patient-centered care
- Provide leadership in the transfer of knowledge into practice in nursing and related fields appropriate to the clinical focus
- Act as a liaison and consultant to other healthcare providers and regional partners regarding patient care and health services
Requirements
- Current Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized University
- A minimum of three years of experience in working with clients who are experiencing addiction/mental health issues
- Experience with working with interprofessional healthcare teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations
- Strong advocate for patient- and caregiver-centred care
- Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical issues
- Advanced knowledge of the consultation process as they relate to individuals, groups and/or systems
- Excellent writing skills
- Knowledge of the regional healthcare system in the area of the discipline/specialty
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
- Functional level in English (oral and written)

- Membership with RNAO and the Nurse Practitioner's Association of Ontario
- Functional level in French (oral) an asset (and testing completed)
