Inpatient Mental Health Services Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
The Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Mental Health Services team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and develop effective care plans
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
• Demonstrate autonomy and accountability in decision-making and practice
Requirements
• Current Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized University
• A minimum of three years of experience in working with clients who are experiencing addiction/mental health issues
• Experience with working with interprofessional health care teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations
• Strong advocate for patient- and caregiver-centred care
• Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical issues
• Advanced knowledge of the consultation process as they relate to individuals, groups and/or systems
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of the regional health care system in the area of the discipline/specialty
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
• Functional level in English (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications
• Membership with RNAO and the Nurse Practitioner's Association of Ontario
• Functional level in French (oral) an asset (and testing completed)
