We are seeking an experienced Emergency Management Leader to join our team at the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA).

This key leadership position oversees staff responsible for functional and hazard-specific emergency planning, agency training, and operational readiness.

Primary duties include:

  • Providing strategic direction and oversight to direct reports, including Planners responsible for emergency planning and response preparedness.
  • Supporting the Chief and Deputy Chief with strategic deliverables, developing and managing goals and objectives for the work area.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with critical partners and supporting their emergency preparedness initiatives.
  • Acting as a member of general staff within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) when activated for emergency events.

This role requires a strong understanding of emergency management principles, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and experience in supervisory roles.

A minimum of 8 years of emergency management experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience, is required. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or Graduated Driver's License is also necessary.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $94,168 - $144,228, depending on qualifications and experience.

This is a permanent full-time position working a standard 35-hour work week with benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
