Our inpatient, outpatient, and online programs are offered across the country, providing essential compassionate care to patients wherever they are.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of clients with mental health and addiction related issues and provide treatment management, guidance, and prescribe medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Work all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Deliver client care according to the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Provide ongoing client care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Maintain current progress records on clients according to legal and ethical standards.
  • Decide and initiate on course of action in case of medical emergencies.
  • Provide supportive counselling to clients, families, and/or significant others on typical recovery issues.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment on the unit conducive to the client learning productive patterns of living.
  • Provide ongoing health teaching to clients in relation to common health problems and the clients maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • Actively participate with team members in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the client and his care.
Requirements

We are seeking a Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training and Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Alberta.

Knowledge of/experience with a team-based person-centered care approach is preferred.
