Job Title: Infection Prevention and Control Lead

We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Lead to join our team at Tri-County Mennonite Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Infection Prevention and Control program across all sites, promoting interdisciplinary health management, and developing and delivering education in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Infection Prevention and Control program, ensuring compliance with quality and risk management standards.
  • Promote interdisciplinary health management, fostering a culture of awareness and best practices in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Develop and deliver education programs, including policy revision and implementation, to ensure staff are equipped to prevent and control infections.
  • Coordinate outbreak management activities, ensuring all necessary measures are in place to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing evidence-based practices to reduce the incidence of infections and outbreaks.
  • Lead the quarterly Infection Prevention and Control committee, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic planning activities for Tri-County Mennonite Homes in relation to Infection Prevention and Control.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health science or related discipline.
  • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or equivalent experience in long-term care.
  • Current registration with the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) or willingness to obtain within the first 2 years.
  • Completion of an Infection Prevention and Control Canada endorsed IPAC course.
