Job Summary

The Automotive Parts Sales Associate is a key member of our retail team at Canadian Tire Okotoks AB. This role involves providing exceptional customer service and ensuring an ongoing commitment to the needs of our customers and their vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.
  2. Smile, make eye contact with, and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Direct or guide customers to the location of requested items.
  4. Answer questions and provide friendly advice and services to customers.
  5. Suggest value-added and related products to customers to ensure they go home with what they need.
  6. Respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner.
  7. Handle multiple customers in an effective and efficient manner.
  8. Deal with challenging situations in a professional manner.
  9. Stay up-to-date on in-store promotions, in-store deals, auto center specials, and product locations.

Operations

  1. Sources and orders automotive parts for customers through authorized suppliers.
  2. Ensure that retail basics tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, etc.).
  3. Stock shelves and merchandise display areas using modules and planograms as guidelines.
  4. Walk assigned sections to understand what needs to be accomplished on a daily basis.
  5. Maintain inventory accuracy and identify/report low stock levels (e.g., hole check and bin cap analysis).
  6. Participate in meetings and all training as required and listen to feedback to improve abilities.
  7. Comply with company, store, department, and Automotive Service Centre policies.
  8. Abide by all health and safety programs and regulations. Report any observed or potential hazards immediately.
  9. Use professional language and maintain a professional appearance (e.g., uniform, hygiene, grooming, and name tag) when interacting with others.
  10. Complete other tasks as required.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated automotive subject matter knowledge and interest.
  2. Basic math and typing skills.
  3. Good working knowledge of automotive parts lookup system.
  4. Ability to operate a cash register is an asset.
  5. Ability to work under minimal supervision with computerized systems.
  6. Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire store or Automotive Service Centre, is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule, including day, evening, and weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to work a minimum of 28 hours per week.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $16.00-$18.00 per hour.
