About the Role:

The Director, Engineering of Commercial Technology will be responsible for leading the technical strategy and direction of Engineering Technology, supporting the priorities and strategies within the Commercial organization. This role will work closely with Digital Product Owners, IT Platform Owners, In-house Engineering teams, and Third-party vendors to analyze, design, and implement technologies and applications that enable Four Seasons to be the world's most guest-centric, digitally driven luxury hospitality brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technical strategies and roadmaps to support Commercial strategy and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy commercial applications and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions aligned with Commercial strategy and product roadmaps.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders, including Digital Product Owners, IT Platform Owners, and In-house Engineering teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements, and conduct market research to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Third-party vendors and partners to ensure seamless integration and delivery of commercial applications and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with technology architecture and design/operational processes.
  • Provide ongoing review of in-progress activity against technology and development standards.

Requirements:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in Digital, Engineering Technologies, including Ecommerce, Web, Mobile Apps, Cloud services.
  • 7+ Years - Expert skills architecting solutions for enterprise applications running in a cloud-first environment.
  • 10+ Years leading developers, reviewing code, mentoring, teaching best practices, managing development deliverables.
  • 15+ years Development experience, building software applications for Fortune 1000 Organizations.
  • Experience working across global functional teams with diverse profiles of people, processes, and priorities.
  • Experience in delivering with global internal and external product teams while leveraging Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Business or IT discipline (Computer Science). MBA would be considered an asset.

  • Architecture Certification (TOEGAF or similar)
  • Hospitality Experience
  • Ecommerce experience
  • Salesforce experience
  • Oracle system experience
  • Experience in a Project management, Scrum Master capacity

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 2-3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario.
