Stores Clerk Assistant

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stores Clerk to assist with the receipt, organization, and distribution of inventories and supplies throughout the organization.
This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of inventory and supplies. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to end-users.
The Stores Clerk will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks, and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education or equivalent, with a willingness to participate in ongoing education programs. They will also have working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs, including SAP.
Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment is preferred, as is knowledge of inventory control and materials management. The ability to work in a self-directed environment and effectively within an interdisciplinary team is essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work a long assignment, full-time position, with approximately 70 hours bi-weekly. They will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Requirements- Grade 12 or equivalent

- Demonstrated planning, organizational, priority setting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of the SAP computer system
- Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Demonstrated working knowledge of and current relevant experience with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of Materials Management Service in the delivery of patient care and understanding of how errors may affect medical treatment and cause financial loss
- Ability to lift heavy and awkward objects
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
