We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team at Southside Market. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a clean and safe dining environment.
Responsibilities- Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and place them in storage areas.
- Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, and scour pots and pans.
- Keep records of the quantities of food used and package take-out food.
- Portion and wrap foods, prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, and serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars, take customers' orders, and use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, and handle and store cleaning products.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash, sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, and stand for extended periods.
- Client focus, reliability, and team player skills.
- A health care plan.
- Support for newcomers and refugees, including diversity and cross-cultural trainings.
- Support for Indigenous people, including access to Elders who can offer support and guidance.
