We are seeking a skilled Health Information Management Professional II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare information management.

About the Role

As a Health Information Management Professional II, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of clinical data in accordance with provincial directives and Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) rules and guidelines.

You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement data quality and clinical documentation integrity standards. Your expertise will help ensure that clinical information is timely, accurate, and valid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data quality and clinical documentation integrity standards
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with provincial directives and CIHI rules and guidelines
  • Provide leadership and training to new staff members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma from an accredited Health Information Management program
  • Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
  • 3-5 years minimum coding experience with ICD-10-CA/CC
  • Experience with Connect Care (EPIC) and 3M HDM abstracting system
  • Certificate of completion from Coding Specialist Program, Coding Refresher or other coding & classification programs recognized by CCHIM

Alberta Health Services offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
