About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at IWK Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing Patient Data: You will analyze patient data during treatments to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Operating Ultrasound Equipment: You will operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record high-quality images, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Training and Development: You will train students and other medical sonographers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Image Processing and Reporting: You will record, store, and process scanned images using camera units connected to ultrasound equipment, and prepare examination reports for physicians.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You will check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation and make any necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: You must have a diploma or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Experience: While experience is an asset, we encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
  • Language: You must be fluent in English, as this is the primary language used in our facility.
