Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT architecture team at our head office location in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing cyber security processes and solutions to protect our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Monitor key GCT systems (EDR, IPS, SIEM, Firewalls etc.) to detect abnormalities.
  • Investigate, detect, contain, and resolve observed or reported abnormalities to corporate standards.
  • Carry out regular scheduled activities, such as dormant account review, phishing tests, internal and external vulnerability scans.
  • Collaborate with GCT IT / third party system administrators to ensure risk appropriate actions are taken.
  • Conduct risk and privacy assessments to internal and external information systems.
  • Assure compliance to required federal and corporate standards, procedures, guidelines, and processes.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in cyber security or related subject.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in the cyber security sector with strong focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining cyber security solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical and investigative skills, and knowledge of emerging security trends, threats, and practices.
  • Experience in the practical implementation and maintenance of security systems.
