Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Nottingham Child Care. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our childcare centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will also be responsible for supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers, and leading activities that promote learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Storytelling and leading activities that promote learning and development
  • Supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • Assisting early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Encouraging children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engaging children in activities that promote learning and development
  • Guiding and assisting children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Or equivalent experience
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) or child development worker (ECE level 2) certification
  • Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a childcare centre with a team of early childhood educators and support staff. The work environment is fast-paced and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
