About the Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated R&D Design Engineering Intern with a passion for agriculture to join our R&D team This position would begin in either January or May 2025 for a 12 or 16 month term. Please note: this position could be located in Saskatoon or St. Brieux, SK. Please indicate your preference in your application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use SolidWorks to develop computer models and drawings of new product components or modify existing products/components
  • Conduct design analysis and refinement
  • Communicate with vendors to specify and obtain outsourced components
  • Assist with prototype assembly and field testing
  • Communicate with other teams (purchasing, manufacturing, service, etc.) to ensure successful product change integration
  • Occasionally travel to various field test locations
About You

To qualify, you will need to be enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical or agricultural focus is preferred) and be eligible for your college's internship/coop program. The following qualifications will be needed to successfully perform this role:

  • A Strong knowledge of and interest in current farming practices and related technology (farm background/experience in the agriculture industry is a strong asset)
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Experience conducting structural analysis with FEA software is an asset
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • High level of analytical thought and creativity
  • Enjoy getting your hands dirty
