About the Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated R&D Design Engineering Intern with a passion for agriculture to join our R&D team. This position offers a 12- or 16-month term, beginning in either January or May 2025. The location may be in Saskatoon or St. Brieux, SK. Please indicate your preference in your application.
In this role, you will:
- Utilize SolidWorks to develop computer models and drawings of new product components or modify existing products/components.
- Conduct design analysis and refinement.
- Communicate with vendors to specify and obtain outsourced components.
- Assist with prototype assembly and field testing.
- Collaborate with other teams (purchasing, manufacturing, service, etc.) to ensure successful product change integration.
- Occasionally travel to various field test locations.
About You
To qualify, you must be enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical or agricultural focus preferred) and eligible for your college's internship/co-op program.
The following qualifications are required to successfully perform this role:
- A strong knowledge of and interest in current farming practices and related technology (farm background/experience in the agriculture industry is a strong asset).
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience conducting structural analysis with FEA software is an asset.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A high level of analytical thought and creativity.
- A willingness to get hands-on.
