Academic Core Obstetrician and Gynecologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Core Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our team at the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
This is a full-time position that includes the possibility of transitioning to full practice in conjunction with a career transition plan. The successful candidate will have an academic position description as a clinician teacher and be on track or currently eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor at the University of Toronto.
The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025, or a mutually agreeable date. The hospital provides a full range of clinical services in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including 4,000 births/year, and includes the divisions of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Midwifery, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Gynecologic Surgery.
The successful candidate will provide consultation services and ongoing care in core obstetrics and gynecology. They will participate in a component of low-risk pregnancy care, general gynecology clinic care to include urgent care and rapid access clinics, and obstetrics and gynecology on-call. Opportunities may also be available to participate in colposcopy, clinics for vulvar disorders, early pregnancy management, advanced obstetrical surgical care, mature women's health, or a mutually agreeable area of specialized interest.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology supports all levels of medical learners, including trainees, fellows, and residents. The successful applicant should have a strong commitment to education and teaching. Enthusiastic participation in all levels of our teaching and education mandate is expected, including residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Family Medicine, as well as elective students from other universities.
Candidates must hold a fellowship certificate in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent certification, in addition to an MD degree. They must either be licensed or be eligible for independent or restricted academic licence under the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Compensation for this role is estimated to be in the range of $375,000 - $425,000 per year, based on fee-for-service income and qualifications. This placement will be within the Hospital Department Practice Plan.
