Job Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Air Quality Specialist to join the Oil Sands Monitoring (OSM) Program. In this role, you will lead the evaluation of air data, indicators, and associated thresholds, generating reporting products and predictions to assess environmental change against ecological benchmarks.

About the Role
As an Environmental Air Quality Specialist, you will work with multi-disciplinary monitoring teams from multiple governments, industry, and academic sources to synthesize integrated reporting among OSM scientific teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Conducting multi-year research and monitoring plans to assess the condition of Alberta's long-term air quality and deposition monitoring systems;
• Ensuring the long-term air quality and deposition monitoring program is delivered in a safe and effective manner;
• Developing, leading, and actively participating in the analyses and completion of scientifically credible environmental data evaluation and reporting;
• Collaborating with OSM scientists, field monitoring technologists, and other collaborators in all phases of monitoring and research programs.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of five years of work experience in atmospheric and air monitoring sciences or related fields. You should have demonstrated expertise in atmospheric chemistry and innovative monitoring technologies, as well as experience in linking different knowledge systems and leading or working in multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
A Master's degree in a related field plus 7 years of related experience or University graduation in a related field plus 9 years of related experience are also acceptable qualifications.
