Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled HVAC Apprentice Technician to join our Southwest Ontario team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of various HVAC equipment. Your primary duties will include installation, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC systems. You will work directly with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the work required. Key responsibilities include:

* Maintaining and servicing chillers, heat pumps, steam boilers, air handling units, fans, humidifiers, pumps, VAV boxes, motors, refrigerators, and freezers
* Monitoring, troubleshooting, replacing, calibrating, and programming HVAC control systems
* Replacing filters and belts
* Updating documentation related to HVAC services
* Installing new services in renovation or building changes as determined by the Manager
* Recommending the ordering of HVAC supplies
* Responding to environment comfort complaints
* Performing log readings
* Installation of wall and ceiling-mounted accessories
* Completing preventive and demand maintenance tasks; entering maintenance records on work orders

Competency requirements include:

Education requirements include:

* Must be a registered Apprentice Year 3 or above
* Must have a valid G2 gas license

Work experience requirements include:

* Working knowledge of building services, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical and mechanical equipment controls and systems
* Full understanding of the building automation system HVAC control strategies

Skills, abilities, and other requirements include:

* Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
* Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations
* A team player, committed to working in a quality environment
* Complying with all company policies and procedures and adhering to company standards
* Bending and lifting required; lifting under 30 kgs
* Must be able to work on ladders or scaffolds at various heights

Proficient user of:

* MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system
* DSI platform
* Willing and able to travel
* Valid G driver's license
* Police check
