About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC - B85. In this position, you will serve as the site's designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates.
  • Develop and execute leadership development plans for your team, communicate team expectations, and provide frequent feedback.
  • Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies, identify deficiencies, and drive accountability for the plan.
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
  • Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site, implement solutions, and review changes to ensure compliance.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications, including pivot tables and chart development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
