Site Health and Safety Manager

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement department goals and strategies to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes.
- Partner with site leaders to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to identify and mitigate WHS risks, and ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure site leadership and associates are knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
- Conduct regular site WHS audits to identify noncompliant equipment and/or processes, and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks.
- Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies, and drive accountability for implementing corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of exempt and nonexempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Master's degree.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
