Job Title: Medical Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Microbiologist to join our team at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at BC Children's Hospital.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide Medical Microbiology services, including participation in the on-call roster, and will be responsible for providing prompt and expert consultative services to physicians and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Medical Microbiology services, including bacteriology and virology testing
  • Participate in the on-call roster and provide after-hours coverage
  • Provide expert consultative services to physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with the Infection Control Program at PHSA
  • Contribute to academic teaching and research
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Fellowship in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
