About the Role
As a Geotechnical Director at EnviroEmplois, you will be responsible for leading the geotechnical operations and resources. Your business acumen and management experience will make you a key player in the growth of the department and the company's strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, you will:
- Organize professional services to achieve company and client objectives;
- In collaboration with the Vice-President of Building Sciences and Geo-Environment, develop a business development plan;
- Direct daily operations and plan departmental work organization;
- Hire, train, supervise, and retain department staff;
- Conduct or oversee the execution of geotechnical studies with varying scopes, ensuring compliance with established budgets and timelines;
- Evaluate project risks;
- Monitor the quality of work performed on sites and review produced documents;
- Develop procedures and template documents related to geotechnical services;
- Understand key industry regulations and standards related to geotechnical engineering practice;
- Represent the company and provide training and conference presentations on related topics.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in geotechnics or a related field;
- In-depth knowledge of geotechnics and current legislation;
- Registration in good standing with the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnics;
- Excellent proficiency in both French and English languages;
- Business development skills;
- Ability to supervise and mobilize a work team;
- Strong project management skills (timelines, human resources, budgets, etc.);
- A valid driver's license and a vehicle in good working condition.
