Senior Bridge CAD Designer

Main Responsibilities:
  • Utilize advanced CAD software to create complex bridge designs and layouts.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
  • Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and review orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.
  • Perform checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Provide technical guidance for mentoring lower-level Designers working on the same and other projects.
  • Travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, as required.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of related structural and bridge drafting experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and/or Bluebeam.
  • Time management, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in bridge projects with Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) and the City of Winnipeg (COW).
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or Revit is an asset.
