Director, Business Solutions

Capilano University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Business Solutions to lead the development and implementation of our enterprise digital ecosystem and software architecture. As a key member of the Digital Technology Services (DTS) team, you will be responsible for delivering ongoing leadership and management of the University's enterprise ecosystem and software architecture, prioritizing the experience of students, faculty, and administrative employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to design, deliver, and maintain the university-wide enterprise digital ecosystem and software architecture, ensuring effective use of enterprise digital solutions, enhancing the user experience, and improving decision-making capabilities.
  • Collaborate across the university to modernize the current digital ecosystem and software architecture, reducing technical debt, providing automation, and supporting efficiencies.
  • Support a culture of data-informed decision making across the university by collaborating with respective departments/areas in enabling the development of standards and improving access to data through the implementation and maintenance of an integration engine that transforms data between systems while maintaining a source of truth.
  • Provide direction for implementing, managing, and maintaining an ERP system.
  • Develop integrations between systems using the integration engine to reduce the number of disparate systems in use across the university, reducing manual work, and reducing data duplication.
  • Foster collaboration with faculty and administrative staff to identify business process improvements through effective use of digital solutions.
  • Manage and maintain university websites from a development and infrastructure perspective.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of enterprise business systems.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, with 5 years in a leadership role with direct responsibility for enterprise business systems, including managing ERP systems, integration engines, and web services.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Progressive technical knowledge of ERP platforms, development standards, and data governance.
