About the Role
This exciting opportunity as a Registered Nurse offers a chance to provide high-quality patient care while consolidating skills in a specialty nursing unit.
As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will work collaboratively to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate nursing care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment, making a nursing diagnosis and determining whether the condition can be improved or resolved by appropriate nursing intervention.
- Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care, collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan.
- Participate in care and discharge planning processes, ensuring comprehensive care planning and delivery.
- Coordinate nursing care, set priorities, assign and delegate tasks to support staff, and make referrals according to established protocols and practice standards.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team, including physicians, licensed practical nurses, patient care coordinators, clinical nurse educators, and other healthcare professionals/providers.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of the applicable postgraduate specialty nursing course/program and/or willingness to complete it within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, the public, medical staff, and members of the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrate empathy, and advocate for patients' rights and choices.
Estimated Salary
CAD $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
