Job Description

Fopconsultants is seeking a skilled Software Development Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications to meet the needs of our clients in the IT sector.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage software and application development projects
  • Perform debugging tests and update software according to established specifications
  • Analyze and evaluate user needs and make recommendations
  • Improve, correct malfunctions, and update applications and software
  • Collaborate with other departments for the coordination and follow-up of application and software development projects
  • Stay up-to-date with technological changes and adapt to them
  • Write and update documentation required for software use, development, and maintenance
  • Provide support to users of software and applications and act as an expert
  • Participate in the training of personnel and provide solutions to problems encountered
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 1-10 years of experience in the IT field
  • Project management experience (an asset)
  • Relevant experience in software and application development (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI components (Power BI, SSIS, T-SQL, MDX, etc.) (an asset)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and big data (SQL Managed Instance, SQL Data Warehouse, HD Insight Spark, etc.) (an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, Gantt charts
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Writing and oral communication skills in English and French
  • Perfect bilingualism (an asset)
  • Valid class 5 driver's license (an asset)
  • Mobility and willingness to travel (an asset)
