About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Hakka Fresh. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as managing kitchen staff and inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Kitchen Operations: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure that the kitchen is clean and well-organized.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that food is prepared and served safely and to the highest quality standards.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain accurate records of inventory levels to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked and that orders are fulfilled efficiently.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years, or equivalent experience
  • Work Setting: Restaurant
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgement, reliability, team player, and time management
