The Teaching and Learning Centre of InnovationOur Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation provides a range of services to support student success, including accessibility services, learning commons, educational development, and research support. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Opportunity - Contract Tutor, Math GeneralistWe are seeking a contract tutor to provide academic support to our students in mathematics and statistics. The successful candidate will work in the Learning Commons, facilitating one-on-one and small group learning sessions. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in statistics and applied math.
Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning in one-on-one and small group settings
- Record and report data as assigned
- Communicate and collaborate with instructors as needed
- Baccalaureate or Diploma in a related discipline
- Tutoring or teaching experience
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Effective communication and adaptability
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite of apps
- A dynamic and supportive work environment
- The opportunity to work with a diverse student population
- Professional development opportunities
