The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (TLCI) at Olds College serves students, faculty, and staff in various areas, including accessibility services, learning commons, educational development, and research support. Our centre is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The Opportunity - Contract Tutor, Math Generalist
We are seeking a contract tutor to provide academic support to Olds College students in the Learning Commons during the 2024/2025 academic year. The tutor will facilitate student learning in one-on-one and small group settings, with a focus on mathematics and statistics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mathematics and experience in tutoring or teaching.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning in one-on-one and small group settings
- Provide academic support in mathematics and statistics
- Record and report data as assigned
- Communicate and collaborate with instructors as needed
Requirements
- Baccalaureate or Diploma in a related discipline
- Tutoring or teaching experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite of apps
