The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation
The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (TLCI) at Olds College serves students, faculty, and staff in various areas, including Accessibility Services, Learning Commons, Educational Development, Moodle and Google training, The Studio video production services, and the MakerSpace. Our centre is dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment that fosters academic success and innovation.
The Opportunity - Contract Tutor, Business Programs
We are seeking a contract tutor to support Olds College students in the Learning Commons during the 2024/2025 academic year. The successful candidate will facilitate student learning in one-on-one and small group settings, with a focus on business programs. Preference will be given to individuals with familiarity with Olds College programming and a strong understanding of business concepts.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning in one-on-one and small group settings
- Preference will be given to those individuals with familiarity with Olds College programming
- Responsibilities also include data recording/reporting as assigned
- Tutor/s will report to the Manager, Student Experience and Educational Design, but may be required to communicate and collaborate with instructors as needed
Requirements
- Baccalaureate or Diploma in a related discipline (Business Administration, Accounting, Management, etc.)
- Tutoring/teaching experience at the post-secondary level
- Strong understanding of Accounting, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Finance
- Strong interpersonal skills, time management skills, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Effective communication skills, comfortable working with diverse populations
- Proficiency in MS Office and the Google suite of apps
