About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cellar Hand II at our Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Winery. As a key member of our cellar operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth production of our award-winning wines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in grape processing, including reception, destemming, crushing, and pressing.
  • Support fermentation management, including inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs, sugar monitoring, and digging out of fermenters.
  • Contribute to cellar work, including barrel work, racking, product transfers, product blending, and product additions.
  • Maintain cellar sanitation, including tank and barrel cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures.
  • Complete work orders and maintain inventory control.
  • Operate cellar forklift and other winery equipment safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, dependable, and self-starting individual with good problem-solving abilities and basic logistic skills.
  • Ability to be trained in confined space entry process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures.
  • Teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work shift work, including weekends.
  • Ability to understand and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain an organized work place.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.

Compensation

$20 - $25 / hr
