Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cellar Hand II at Arterra Wines Canada, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in grape processing, including grape and juice reception, destemming, crushing, and pressing.
  • Contribute to fermentation management, including inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs, sugar monitoring, and digging out of fermenters.
  • Perform cellar work, including barrel work, racking, product transfers, product blending, and product additions.
  • Ensure cellar sanitation, including tank and barrel cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures.
  • Complete work orders and maintain compliance.
  • Operate cellar forklift and other winery equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Manage inventory control.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, dependable, and self-starting individual.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and basic logistic skills required.
  • Ability to be trained in confined space entry process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures.
  • Teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work shift work, including weekends.
  • Ability to understand and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain an organized work environment.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
