Job Description

  • As a Roofing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs.
  • Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
  • Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems.
  • Instruct apprentices in roofing techniques and best practices.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of metal roofs using hand and power tools.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:



  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in roofing or a related field.
  • Physical stamina to work at heights, in noisy, dusty environments, and outdoors.
