Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at Dillon Consulting. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead multidisciplinary projects and teams, while developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation engineering team activities and support project managers/technical staff in delivering multidisciplinary projects within Winnipeg for the City of Winnipeg client.
  • Develop technical expertise on various transportation engineering projects, including functional and preliminary designs, detailed designs, and contract administration phases.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams, including transportation, municipal, and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists, and technical support staff.
  • Develop client relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Business Development

  • Prepare estimates and project proposals.
  • Contribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Learning & Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience, preferably with an emphasis on transportation projects within the consulting industry.
  • Proven leadership and business development capabilities.
  • Proven ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams. Experience with City of Winnipeg transportation/infrastructure projects is desired and would be considered a valuable asset.

Experience

  • Proven experience and ability as a project manager in functional design, preliminary and detailed design, and contract administration of municipal transportation projects with the City of Winnipeg.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Exceptional abilities in project management.
  • In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning.
  • Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads, and intersections.
  • Proven skills in public and agency consultation.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential.
