We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our Model Validation team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting model reviews and validating CIBC's analytical and statistical models to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Model Review and Validation: Conduct independent reviews of CIBC's models to assess their mathematical underpinnings, modeling rationale, and assumptions.
- Technical Expertise: Develop numerical benchmarks and conduct testing to evaluate the accuracy of model implementations and identify potential limitations.
- Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to understand model risk and best practices in model validation approaches.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present model validation reports to stakeholders, including senior management, and communicate potential issues or concerns related to model risk.
- Education: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in model validation, model development, or quantitative analyst roles, preferably in a financial institution.
- Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, R, Python, VBA, SAS, and experience with financial derivatives products and capital markets risk management practices.
- Personal Qualities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and reporting skills, and a passion for learning and staying up-to-date with industry developments.
