Millworker - Fraser River Operations

S&R Sawmills Ltd. is a family-run business with a rich history in Custom Cutting in the Lower Mainland. Established in 1963, our company has grown to employ over 300 dedicated individuals on a large stretch of the Fraser River.

About the JobWe are seeking committed, team-oriented individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and prioritize safety. As a permanent, full-time position, this role offers opportunities for growth and development within our organization.
Responsibilities and Duties- Pull and stack lumber according to customer requirements while adhering to Safe Work Procedures.
- Follow instructions from cut sheets and our load stripping policy.
- Built lumber loads correctly, determining width and length by referring to cut sheets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure safe lifting and carrying techniques when handling lumber and carrier blocks.
- Identify, protect, and report safety hazards to management or the safety committee.
- Follow all Safe Work Procedures.
- Other duties assigned by Mill Supervisors.
- Previous experience working at a sawmill is an asset.
- Experience in labor-intensive roles or construction is beneficial.
- Strong physical demands include repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strength, flexibility, and endurance are necessary for working 8-hour shifts with limited rest periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Reliable transportation to and from work (the mill is transit accessible).
- Able to do shift work (day shifts: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, afternoon shifts: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am).
We maintain a safety-focused working environment that balances indoor and outdoor settings.
This role requires standing, turning, twisting, lifting, and bending throughout the shift duration.
